wishful thinking? What is the latest after missed AF that you got a postive?

It is wishful thinking I am sure~

    My history:
DD is nearly 4. DS is 19 mths. I am breastfeeding.
I had one period between DD and DS.
What I think was AF came for the first time since DS on Dec 29 2010. It was a fairly light, symptom free period...it was day 3 before I was convinced it was a period (before that I was hopeful for implantation bleeding)

I was always a 28 day cycle before.

Oh how we BDed this month! one happy DH.

Based on previous cycles, I expected AF on 26th Feb. Still no AF. No premenstral signs or MS (etc) and about 10 negative tests.

What I would like to know is:

Is it possible that 4 days late = preg despite neg tests, or by this stage would pregnany be detectable?

Did your period come back regular? or did it take a few cycles to regulate?

If I were to start charting (on fertility friend) would that be helpful for TTC, even when no periods?

I don't like being unpredictable! Now that we have decided to add to the family, and now would be the same gap as between DD and DS, I am afraid I am going to worry myself to infertility (IYKWIM)

no idea to most (actually all) of your questions. I'm just getting my first proper AF since falling PG with DS who is 19mths roughly. I'm on implanon and getting it out in April for the next one and I'm trying to work out in my head how it's all going to go as I'm also still BFing (about 4-5 feeds a day) as I charted with DS and won't really be able to chart properly with the next one (cause DS wakes at varying times overnight still). So I'm subscribing cause I think I'm kind of after the same info as you.

Your period is due 14ish days after you ovulate. If this is only your first or second cycle post partum it could be irregular. I don't think you can assume you have a 28 day cycle and are a few days late, sorry. But best of luck with your TTC journey.

    Thanks Maruschke.
My head is telling me that
I think it is only that between DD and DS that it seemed to all happen on roughly a 28 day cycle, that I assumed it would be the same this time.

I kept getting negative tests with two of my boys right up until 7 weeks with one of them and 8 and half weeks with the other!
I had to have blood tests to confirm because I knew I was but I didnt have enough HCG to show up in urine tests.

Fingers crossed if its not to be this month it will be next

I had a pg scare before Christmas and read the HPT packs to see that you could test 19 days after DTD and it might show up as a (after numerous tests it was clear for me I had a ) So that might help for when to test

    HI,
I have a 9 month old and have have three cycles since her birth. Before she was conceived I was set the clock by it 28 day cycle, since bleeding again they have been getting later and later each month, to the point where each month I am convinced(and a little freaked out) that I am UTD. Last cycle it was a week late. I am just going to be on mucous watch from now on as I think the day counting will be way out. If you can wait it out for a week and test again, if symptoms start then test again perhaps. Mystery cycles are so frustrating, my DH ignores (in a loving way!) me when I start the I think I am UTD talk! haha

Hi - - - did you have any other signs of PG (other than no AF) when you were getting your BFN's??? Were you charting?

I am estimating that I am 5 days late but now have managing to convince myself that I am not ovulating anyway

I am feeling very emotional today and teary which isn't like me at any time, including pre AF...so of course this is a major catch22 of fake symptom....
    1) I get teary because I work myself up that I am not pg and worse case scenario..am not even O'ing....
    2) then I think I am overreacting and being over emotional....
    3) then I start thinking, maybe that's a symptom...
    4) then I think it is probably only pre AF....
    5) then, back to step 1....I get sad again and so on.....

Is there anyone else that does this to themselves too.....?

PS - lucky there was an error when I first posted - gave me a chance to re read the thread and notice that I have already posted ...a reply to Feijoa Mum re BPN with both pg's.... !!

I am the OP - and AF turned up on day 35 for me, so now I must try again.

I know exactly what you mean about the not ovulating thoughts!

Before I got preganat with my first, we tried for 3 years. I decided to ask to doc for help. By that point I was prepared to be devastated. It was a fairly straightforward investigation that involved some bloodtests and an ultrasound over the course of a month. Apparently I was 'borderline ovulating'. The results of the test couls have gone eitherway. The next step was to see a specialist, who would assess whether or not fertility drugs would be an option.. There was no anatomical reason why I was not falling pregnant. I had my referral letter. I did not make an appointment. I was devestated at the thought I could not concieve naturally. I gave up. I would relish myself with my beloved nephew and my gorgeous neices.

That month - we fell pregnant. Go figure.

I think you are not at all alone in feeling that way! Much love and baby dust to you.
